The best conversations happen in person. Our campus in Lalitpur is open through the week, and visitors are welcome on class days — you can walk through the edit suites, watch a session in progress, see student work on the big screen, and meet current students who will tell you honestly what the course is like. If you would like a proper counselling session, message us first and we will book a time so an instructor or admissions team member is free to sit with you without rushing. Parents and guardians are very welcome; many of our best conversations are with families deciding together.
Not sure what to ask? These are the questions we answer every week and are always happy to repeat: which course fits my goal and background; when the next batch starts and how many seats remain; what the fee is and whether instalments are possible; what the class schedule looks like alongside a job or college; what equipment I need at home, if any; what graduates of a course are doing now; and whether I can visit a class before deciding. There is no such thing as too early or too basic a question — deciding to study a craft is a real decision and we treat it that way.
For admissions, mention the course you are interested in and your rough timeline — this batch, next batch, or just exploring — and we will reply with current seat availability, the fee sheet, the batch calendar and anything else you need to decide. If a batch you want is full, we will tell you immediately and hold your details for priority contact when the next cycle opens. Seats confirm in order of completed applications, so if your mind is made up, applying early is genuinely the practical move.
We also welcome contact from studios looking to hire OFI graduates, production houses interested in collaboration, schools and colleges wanting film workshops for their students, and media inquiries about the institute. Our graduates are working across Nepal's wedding, advertising and content industries — if you are hiring editors, cinematographers, colourists or photographers, we are always glad to recommend people whose work we know personally.
Class days run through the week at our Lalitpur campus, and our phones and inboxes are most responsive during daytime hours. Messages sent late at night are answered the next morning. During admission season and around batch start dates, volumes are high — if you have not heard back within one working day, please do nudge us; messages occasionally hide in folders, and we would rather be nudged than have you wait.

Yes, and we actively encourage it. Visit on a class day and you can see the edit suites, watch a session in progress, look at student work and speak to current students without any staff member steering the conversation. Deciding after seeing the real thing is exactly how we want students to choose.
All the time — it is one of the most useful things we do. Tell us your background, your goal and your constraints, and an instructor or admissions team member will help you map course to goal honestly, even when the honest advice is a shorter course, a later batch, or a different craft than you first asked about.
Fees vary by course and duration and are quoted in Nepali rupees. Contact us for the current fee sheet — we keep pricing off the website so we are never quoting you an outdated number — and ask about instalment arrangements, which are available for many batches. We will always tell you the full amount up front, with nothing added later.
Of course, and many parents do. We are glad to explain how courses run, what careers realistically follow, and what commitment is required, and we welcome parents on campus visits. A student whose family understands and supports the path almost always does better in it.
We support graduates practically: showreel preparation, referrals to studios in our network that regularly ask us for hires, and pulling strong students onto real productions before they even finish. We never sell guaranteed placement — nobody honest can — but committed graduates consistently find that the industry is closer than they thought.
Please do. We regularly recommend graduates whose work and work-ethic we know personally, for editing, camera, colour and photography roles, full-time and freelance. Write with the role and requirements and we will connect you to matching candidates quickly.
